Backlinks can help your businesses grow organic visibility across traditional and AI search.
But earning quality links takes time, expertise and persistence – which is why many marketers choose to outsource the work to a link building agency.
Choosing the right agency, however, can be just as challenging.
Whilst growing my previous business to 18 million visitors, I built thousands of backlinks and hired several agencies to help along the way. That experience taught me what to look for in a provider – and what to avoid.
Here’s my rundown of the best link building agencies, with options to suit different goals, budgets and ways of working.

Best manual outreach link building agencies
Manual outreach agencies contact website owners and editors to secure links through new articles, additions to existing content and other editorial opportunities.
They are good for businesses who need links quickly and want control over the amount of links being built, and to some extent – what kind of sites the links will appear on.
1. Fatjoe
Best for hassle-free links without lengthy agency engagement

FatJoe sells productised outreach services that you can order through a dashboard – with a focus on making it quick and easy to buy links.
Their core services are link insertions and guest posts, but they also offer list placements, brand mentions, and even digital PR campaigns now.
I occasionally used FATJOE at StandOut CV when we needed to top up our own link building efforts. I found it really helpful for getting links quickly with relatively little hassle.
Core services available
- Blogger outreach – Contacts bloggers and arranges new articles containing contextual links, with writing included.
- Niche edits – Secures links within existing articles instead of creating a new post for each placement.
- Brand mentions – Securing placements in list articles for your product and service, to help getting mentioned by AI search tools
Service models
- Pay per link – Individual placements are priced by the publisher’s Ahrefs Domain Rating (DR) tier, with traffic criteria also shown.
- Subscriptions – You can subscribe to a monthly spend for a 10% discount.
- Pay per campaign – For more complex services like digital PR
Pricing
Fat Joe has very clear pricing for all of it’s services (which is not common in SEO!) – here is a small sample of their Blogger outreach prices:
- DR10+: $82
- DR30+: $137
- DR40+: $247
Limitations
The biggest limitation I encountered was not being able to specify the type of website the links would come from as precisely as I wanted. They tried their best and the page content was always relevant, but the website category was not always what I requested.
I find this to be a general limitation of manual outreach link building as a whole, rather than just FAT JOE though. If they don’t have contacts in your niche, they won’t always be able to get the best sites for you.
Bonus – They host a great SEO meetup
FatJoe also host a brilliant SEO and marketing meetup in Barcelona, where they bring together lots of great marketers and speakers on rooftop in the sun, with amazing food and drink….
This is no way influenced my decision to place them at number 1 in this list 😉
2. Editorial.Link
Best for businesses that want to approve publisher websites before outreach proceeds.

Editorial.Link offers managed editorial link building with an emphasis on established websites and client approval of prospects. It suits businesses that want more input into publisher selection than a basic authority-tier order provides.
Its published client examples span software, technology, finance and other competitive markets.
Core services available
- Editorial backlinks – Arranges contextual links within relevant content on established websites.
- Broken link building – Identifies broken external references and pitches suitable replacements; available on request.
- Linkable assets – Creates research and substantial resources, then promotes them to potential linking sites.
- Listicle placements – Seeks inclusion in relevant lists and recommendation articles.
Service models
- Free trial link
- Pay per-link
- Volume-package prices
- Managed monthly offering.
- Links carry a six-month restoration or replacement guarantee.
Pricing
- One backlink: $375.
- Five backlinks: $1,750, equivalent to $350 each.
- 20 backlinks: $6,000, equivalent to $300 each.
Agency and white-label arrangements are quoted separately. This is primarily volume and placement-based pricing rather than a low-to-high DR shopping menu.
Limitations
The entry cost per link is materially higher than basic productised outreach services, so a modest budget buys fewer placements – however they do promise higher quality links with a minimum of DR50
Publisher approval also requires your involvement, so it may not suit somebody looking for a totally hands-off service
3. Rhino Rank
Best for budget-conscious teams and agencies buying link insertions at scale.

Rhino Rank offers productised links alongside a managed service. Its signature product is curated links: contextual insertions into articles that already exist.
The low starting prices and white-label reporting make it helpful for smaller campaigns and agencies handling fulfilment across several clients.
Core services available
- Curated links – Adds contextual backlinks to existing articles on relevant websites.
- Guest posts – Writes and places new articles containing links to your chosen pages.
- Visual links – Offers image-based placements as an additional link format.
- Managed link building – Plans and delivers a tailored monthly programme for businesses that want more strategic support.
Service models
- Pay Per LInk
- Custom managed monthly plan
Pricing
Curated links range from $60 to $210 each, with intermediate tiers at $85, $100 and $132.50..
Guest posts range from $75 for DA10+ to $400 for DA60+. Managed plans require a quote.
Limitations
As with many manual outreach builders, you have limited control over the sites where your links will appear and if they don’t have sites within your niche in their contact lists – you won’t get the sites you want.
4. LinkBuilder.io
Best for established businesses wanting a substantial, managed outreach programme.

LinkBuilder.io takes a bespoke approach to planning and outreach, with research into competitors, target pages, content assets and potential publishers.
It suits businesses that want an external team to manage a continuing programme rather than fulfil occasional link orders. Its case studies cover ecommerce, software, finance and other sectors.
Core services available
- Managed outreach – Researches prospects, develops pitches, follows up and builds relationships with editors.
- Link and content audits – Reviews the existing site and backlink profile to identify priorities.
- Competitor gap analysis – Examines competing sites to guide targeting and campaign planning.
Service models
The agency sells monthly packages with link allowances and strategic support.
Pricing
Published monthly packages are:
- Startup: $2,999 for eight links.
- Pro: $5,999 for 16+ links.
- Growth: $9,999 for 26+ links.
- Enterprise: $19,999 for 53+ links.
The packages includes links across a DR50-90 range rather than a separate published price for each DR band.
Limitations
The $2,999 monthly entry point and contract terms make this less suited to businesses testing a handful of links.
Several case studies anonymise clients, and they provide useful delivery and traffic figures, but make it harder to inspect the sites or separate link building from other changes to their SEO.
Best digital PR agencies
Digital PR agencies earn links through research, expert commentary, news stories and creative campaigns.
This can be a route to major publications, but is a longer-term and more expensive strategy which is best suited for well-funded businesses looking to build brand equity.
It is arguably the best way to build high quality links at scale
5. Root
Best for original research campaigns and a choice of campaign or performance-based pricing.

Root combines digital PR with content marketing and SEO strategy, using stories and research to attract coverage from major publications.
I hired Root at StandOut CV for many years. Their PR campaigns attracted thousands of links from some of the biggest websites in the world and helped us outrank global brands. That makes Root the agency on this list I can speak about most confidently from direct experience.
Core services available
- Digital PR – Develops newsworthy stories and pitches journalists to earn coverage and backlinks.
- Linkable assets – Creates useful data-focused content with the potential to attract traffic and links on auto-pilot.
Service models
Root offers pay per campaign and pay per piece of coverage. Campaign fees stay fixed even if a story substantially exceeds expectations.
Pricing
Campaigns start at £5,000. Multiple campaigns can be paid for monthly on a retainer.
Notable client results
Root’s StandOut CV résumé-lies survey case study earned over 100+ pieces of coverage, an average publisher DR of 67.5, and coverage in CNBC, Bloomberg, Fortune and Forbes.
Limitations
A £5,000 campaign is a meaningful upfront commitment for a small business, and coverage can arrive unevenly rather than in neat monthly batches – and campaigns aren’t always guaranteed to take off.
6. Rise at Seven
Best for big brands combining creative campaigns with search and brand growth.

Rise at Seven combines digital PR, creative campaigns, search strategy and social activity. Its work goes beyond pitching articles to include product stories, cultural moments and large creative concepts.
I would shortlist it for brands that want a campaign people discuss and share, alongside coverage and SEO benefits.
Core services available
- Creative digital PR – Develops attention-grabbing concepts designed to earn media coverage and links.
- Reactive PR – Uses its Rise Live offering to respond to developing stories and media opportunities.
- Data and thought-leadership campaigns – Builds reports, studies and expert-led stories around brand and search priorities.
- International PR – Delivers campaigns across multiple markets with native-language expertise.
Service models
Its digital PR offering is scoped around a combination of ongoing activity and campaigns. Its “Push, Pull, Pow” approach covers planned brand messages, demand-led opportunities and larger creative moments. This is not a standard pay-per-link catalogue.
Pricing
The agency’s digital PR page publishes a range of £5,000 to £70,000+ per month, depending on scope. Exact deliverables and any production costs need to be agreed in the proposal.
Notable client results
The BetUS “Rat Roster” campaign created a rodent basketball team to attract attention around the NBA. Rise at Seven reports 152 media placements, 143 links and 139,000 organic social engagements, including coverage from Fortune, the New York Post and Fox.
Limitations
The budget range can put it beyond smaller businesses, particularly when a brief involves substantial creative production.
Its wider brand and search remit may also be more than you need if your sole requirement is a predictable number of links to specific pages. Agree how success will be divided between coverage, links, awareness and commercial outcomes.
7. Kaizen
Best for established brands needing digital PR integrated with existing marketing and approval processes.

Kaizen blends research, expert commentary, creative campaigns and reactive PR. Its offering connects PR with SEO and wider brand visibility, making it relevant to organisations with several teams involved in campaign decisions.
Its published work includes consumer, financial, travel and B2B brands, including campaigns across multiple countries.
Core services available
- Digital PR strategy – Builds campaign plans around brand goals, search opportunities and media interest.
- Creative campaigns – Develops concepts and supporting assets through its creative and production teams.
- Reactive PR and commentary – Connects brand expertise with developing news and topical conversations.
- Link reclamation – Follows up existing brand mentions to request relevant backlinks, as demonstrated in its AA work.
Service models
Kaizen builds bespoke engagements rather than selling a public menu of individual links. Campaign mix, markets and ongoing support are scoped with the client. Its public pages do not establish a universal pay-per-link rate or standard contract length.
Pricing
Custom pricing
Notable client results
Its AA case study describes combining survey campaigns, repurposed blog content and link reclamation. The reclamation work secured 17 backlinks with an average DR of 80, converting 34% of the targeted mentions into links.
Limitations
The absence of published prices makes initial budget comparisons difficult.
A collaborative creative programme also requires internal time for information, feedback and approval. The AA case illustrates why buyers should agree a workable sign-off process at the start; slow approvals can constrain any agency’s delivery.
8. Reboot Online
Best for data-led digital PR and international campaigns tied to SEO priorities.

Reboot Online builds campaigns around original research, data analysis and newsworthy findings. Its digital PR offering also includes relevant links to commercial pages and international outreach.
It is worth considering for businesses that want research capabilities alongside PR execution, particularly where a strong story needs more than a simple survey.
Core services available
- Data-led digital PR – Uses original research, datasets and freedom-of-information findings to develop stories.
- International digital PR – Adapts outreach and campaigns to different languages, markets and media environments.
- Reactive newsjacking – Responds to emerging stories with timely analysis and commentary.
- Resource and data pages – Creates useful assets intended to keep earning relevant links over time.
Service models
Most work runs on a monthly retainer. Reboot says one-off campaigns are available only through specific trial arrangements. It agrees a minimum link KPI during the proposal stage, rather than publishing one universal link allowance.
Pricing
Digital PR retainers start at £3,500 per month. Fees increase with link targets, market complexity, seniority and the involvement required from its data team. There is no published upper limit or standard DR-based price list.
Notable client results
Its case study directory includes a ShowerstoYou campaign reporting 200+ placements in six months. It also publishes a football retail case reporting 613.03% organic revenue growth and 366.07% organic traffic growth during the engagement.
Limitations
The retainer-first approach is less flexible if you only want one standalone campaign or a handful of placements.
Research-heavy campaigns may also require more preparation and input than straightforward outreach. Ask what the minimum KPI counts as a qualifying link, including treatment of syndication, repeat domains and link attributes.
Best SaaS link building agencies
SaaS specialists focus on software audiences, publishers and buying journeys. Their advantage is the potential to connect outreach with relevant use cases, comparison articles and product pages, rather than treating every high-authority website as equally valuable.
9. SaaS Link Builder
Best for SaaS businesses testing a smaller monthly outreach package.

SaaS Link Builder offers manual outreach focused on B2B software, with guest posts, niche edits, listicle placements and brand mentions.
Its published process includes selecting target pages and anchors, approving publishers and reporting on placements. The comparatively low entry price makes it an option to investigate for smaller SaaS teams.
Core services available
- Guest posting – Arranges new articles on relevant websites containing links to your business.
- Link insertions – Adds contextual references within existing articles.
- Listicle placements – Seeks inclusion in software round-ups and recommendation content.
- Brand mentions – Builds references to your company on relevant third-party websites.
Service models
Monthly packages combine a link allowance with strategy, outreach and reporting. Clients can approve publishers before links go live and get a 12-month replacement guarantee.
Pricing
- Launch: $699 per month, five or more links.
- Growth: $1,399 per month, ten or more links.
- Authority: custom pricing.
However, its homepage lists four or more links for Launch at the same price. Confirm the actual allowance in writing before buying.
Limitations
The inconsistent Launch allowance makes the entry package harder to assess, and the limited public results evidence warrants asking for a relevant case study before committing.
10. Dofollow
Best for B2B SaaS teams wanting managed outreach, brand mentions and category visibility.

Dofollow now positions itself exclusively around B2B SaaS. Its approach combines editorial backlinks with mentions and placements on websites that influence buyers’ research.
Core services available
- Editorial link building – Secures contextual backlinks on relevant industry and SaaS websites.
- Brand mentions – Builds references to your business on third-party sites to support wider visibility.
- Listicle and comparison outreach – Targets articles that buyers use to evaluate software and providers.
- Authority strategy – Analyses competitors’ backlinks and mentions to identify gaps and guide outreach priorities.
Service models
Dofollow offers managed packages built around your budget, with a dedicated strategist, custom outreach and a client portal. Its current public pricing page does not provide a self-service per-link tariff or a schedule of DR-based charges.
Pricing
Custom pricing. Its pricing page asks prospects to request a proposal. A current numerical range is not publicly listed there, so obtain a quote covering placement volume, quality criteria and contract terms.
Limitations.
The lack of published numerical pricing makes it harder to compare budgets before a sales conversation. The anonymised case study offers useful metrics but limits independent checking of the client’s wider SEO activity.
11. Skale
Best for SaaS companies prioritising signups and revenue when choosing where to build links.

Skale combines specialist outreach with SaaS SEO strategy, content production and AI-search services. Its link building approach starts with business metrics and identifies pages where stronger authority could contribute to product signups and revenue.
That makes it relevant to SaaS teams wanting strategic support as well as delivery.
Core services available
- SaaS link building – Uses human outreach and guest posting to secure relevant contextual links.
- SEO strategy – Prioritises target pages using competitive gaps, business value and signup potential.
- Content production – Creates content to support the wider organic acquisition programme.
- AI brand mentions and GEO – Offers additional services aimed at visibility in AI-generated answers.
Service models
Skale offers managed link building as well as broader SEO programmes. Its case studies describe ongoing monthly acquisition, but its public service page does not publish a universal contract duration, link allowance or per-DR rate card.
Pricing
Custom pricing
Notable client results
The HappyScribe case study reports 558 links secured and signups on targeted pages increasing from 2,700 in February 2021 to 70,000 in November 2023. It also describes collaboration on on-page improvements, so the result should be understood as a combined SEO outcome.
Limitations
The lack of public prices makes it difficult to judge affordability before speaking to the team.
Its strategic approach also needs access to your priorities and conversion data to be most useful. If you simply want a few links to a predetermined URL, you may get less value from the wider planning element.
12. Jeenam Infotech
Best for SaaS teams wanting published monthly volumes and payment for delivered links.

Jeenam Infotech focuses on contextual links for B2B software businesses. Its offering combines editorial outreach, new articles, existing-content placements and software-list inclusions.
Its published volume pricing makes it relatively straightforward to compare the cost of different monthly acquisition levels.
Core services available
- Editorial backlinks – Places contextual links within relevant articles on established websites.
- Guest posting – Creates articles for SaaS, marketing and related publications.
- Niche edits – Adds links to existing indexed content.
- Listicle placements – Targets relevant “best tools” and recommendation articles.
Service models
Monthly packages are based on link volume, with published rates falling as the allowance rises. Its website says there is no upfront payment and that clients pay for delivered links. It advertises DR50-90 placements rather than a different public charge for each DR band.
Pricing
- Five links: $1,250, or $250 each.
- Ten links: $2,300, or $230 each.
- 20 links: $4,000, or $200 each.
- 30 links: $5,100, or $170 each.
Limitations
The volume discounts can make larger packages look attractive, but there still needs to be a reason to build that many links to your chosen pages.
Some results are anonymised, limiting independent checks. Before commissioning a SaaS campaign, ask for a comparable software example showing product signups or qualified leads alongside authority and traffic metrics.
